How do I store my delicious Traditional Plum Pudding?

Our puddings are hermetically sealed and can be stored for up to a year in a cool dry cupboard. To store your traditional plum pudding for longer, we recommend that you place it in the deep freeze. Ensure that you throughly defrost the pudding completely before heating.

Do I need to prepare my Traditional Plum Pudding in any way?

Absolutely not! We have already done all of the preparation for you, so you just need to fully heat it and serve it in order to enjoy the moist, fruit filled, suet plum pudding!

How do I heat my Traditional Plum Pudding?

Place your pudding in a pudding bowl, if you don’t have a pudding bowl place a teacup saucer upside down in a pot. Bring an appropriately sized pot of water to the boil (remembering not to use too much water, you don’t want boiling water spilling when you place the pudding in the pan!). Remove the fabric but leave the hermetically sealed plastic wrap around your pudding, and carefully place it in the boiling water.

Boil the pudding for approx. 30 mins per kilogram.

If you can’t wait for the pudding to steam, you can cheat and use the microwave to heat slice by slice. The pudding can heat quickly in the microwave so start with 10-15 seconds and test from that as you don’t want to ‘pop’ all the fruit by heating too long.

How do I serve my Traditional Plum Pudding?

Our favourite is a liberal sprinkle of brandy over the pudding and light. Our vanilla ice-cream and brandy butter are always close at hand, too!

We will be adding a recipe section soon and you will be able to find our brandy butter recipe there shortly.
